Brian Dimatteo, Shop Worker ~ Starfire
Swords Ramon Cortez I started really coming to the Fest in 97 with a good friend, Dominik. After spending that entire year walking the grounds with a Claymore from Starfire on my back, I went to the owner and said, "Hey, I work for steel." Of course, that started it out. I started with Starfire in 98, and immediately fell in love with the fest, and am still out there. In 99, under the watchful eye of Evil Joe, we started humiliations for patrons wearing long pants. The crowd loves watching the teens apologize to the parents for not knowing how to wear pants correctly. In 2000, watch for the Ultimate Bodice Dagger Competition, and yes, we are adding the men's belly dancing contest. |

Night Dopkins, Fencing Booth Geez, I've been around fest for over 12 years now. I used to produce the costuming & chain for various stage and street acts, hawked for a time, and helped out some friends at the Balloon Fencing Booth. Currently I'm an unemployed boothie looking for a good home out there! I had forgotten I was up on the site, but now I think I should actually join the list! Maybe someone needs some help, or at the very least I can get back in touch with some of my long lost friends. |

Irene Doroff, Juggling School Irene I started Festival in 2003 with the MN Half Arabian Horse Association
when we did an Arabian horse demonstration one weekend during Fest. One
thing led to another, and the back half of Festival 2003 and all of 2004
I've been a part of the Juggling School. I'm still developing any sort
of real character, so for the time being I wander and juggle and do a
bit of street at times. I can be seen at the Juggling School throughout
the mornings, but after that it's anyone's guess where I am. ! In my 'normal'
life I own, ride, and train horses competitively on the local and regional
levels and I'm usually involved in a theatre production or four throughout
the year. |

| Marilyn Downs, Playtron Lady Honoria Sylvre I remember the first MRF...went with kid in stroller, sat on hay bales,
loved the whole thing. Am back, "fully grown" (with kids who
have grown up and worked the fest), and a new crop of grandkids to corrupt.
er, educate. I'm the keeper of the scones, the baker of the biscotti,
and can be found traipsing the grounds nearly every weekend. Sometimes
I'm fairly elegant and put together, sometimes just "peasanty"--but
I'm always having fun! I am a playtron, but aspire t! o be "real",
someday. |

Martin Doyle, Chess Match I began working at the Festival many years ago as part of the Fencing
Booth. More recently, I joined Cappa Ferro Productions for the Chess Match,
first as Armand the Assasin (Why assasins are required to have alliterative
names, no-one would tell me - I think they were snickering too hard) and
then as Sir Kendrick Vaughn. Claim to fame - if there was ever an anti-Tights
contest, I think my enormous white pant! s would take the prize, hands
down. |

Allen Drees, Street ~ French Cavaliers Capitaine de Cavois, Captain of the Cardinal's Guard My first year at Fest was '95. I was a hawker for CKC that year and started the '96 season as a hawker as well. Of course, CKC being what it is, I chose to quit after a couple of weeks of the '96 season rather than be forced to help out in the wash houses. I then helped out at King of the Log for a few weeks before starting to work with Todd Anderson in his fine customer furniture booth. I continued to work with Todd for the '97 & '98 seasons. After the '98 season, Todd sold his booth. Last year, two friends and I became the Cardinal's Guard and started working with the Musketeers. Things were thrown together at the last minute last year, so our costumes weren't accurate. I was Cussac, a named Cardinal's Guard in the book. In this past off season, we increased our group dramatically and offically joined the Cardinal's Guards and the Musketeers into one group called the French Cavaliers. As a group, we took stage combat classes and planned a three part performance for this year's Fest. We also entirely redid our costumes. Our acts were performed on the Kings Arbor, at Folkstone Welly, and on the front gate in that order. In addition, we worked on the streets, did the Fables at the Table, and marched in parade. I changed characters and became Cpte de Cavois, the captain of the Cardinal's Guard. I am the equivalent of Treville, who is the captain of the Musketeers in the original book, except I am only mentioned twice. |

Chad Dutton,
Musician ~ The Dregs Cedric O'Bannion Here I am, starting my first year at the Fest in 2005... as a Dreg, no
less. I enjoy singing, bells (cowbells in particular) and being thrown
daily at Vilification Tennis. Also part of the 'Pipsqueaks of Cacaphony.'
(That loud, irritating tin-whistle chaos in motion.) Goat A**! I'm supposedly
Irish, but I've managed to slip Jamaican & Italian into my strange
accent. I must really get around! Last but not least, we love Ethel, even
though shes a nerd. |
