Becky Yares, Front Gate, Leper, Street I joined festival in 2000 as a Tatter-tot-alien(Tatterdemalions)..did
that for two years then found the wonderfulness that is Front Gate...ahhhh
My character, Wallie has recently contracted leprosey and is now suffering
from that, having no idenity at all now I am Leper #2. |
|
Anna Yesberger, Shop Worker I started working at the MRF in 1999 or so. For all years I have worked
on the Rose cart belonging to the Thatchentree up by the front gate, though
we wander all about the grounds. I am currently working my way through
college, where I will pick up an English major, possibly music, and some
random minor if I get around to taking classes in less than all departments. |

Jennie Zalar, Street Most recently, I've been involved with the Fandazzi Gypsy Tribe as the Jen-Bari (literally: Great Jen), or second-in-command under Chris Meis. Everyone in the Tribe worked their butts off to pull together this new group with new shows and new camp. This past year was amazing, and I'm sure the tribe will do much more next year, even though I plan on pursuing other character ideas. I have done or am currently doing the following: Irish Cottage, Mayor's Entourage, Vilification Tennis, MN Clan Tartan, Darius the Dragon, Front Gate, Street, and Fandazzi Gypsy Tribe. I have played Peasent, Bougiose, and Traveller. I've danced, sung, played fiddle, told stories, played games, and otherwise entertained. I have played old, young, and really young. I have held various positions in various groups. I've been under contract for 13 years in entertainment, and helped with a booth before that. Doesn't that all make me sound important? Gotcha! I was raised doing Fest, and now I can't quit. As the saying goes "Raise
the child in the path that he aught, and he will not stray from it."
That's why I bring my son, Jared. |

Stephen Zalar,
Fandazzi Gypsy Tribe&
Mayor's Entourage Louis Leaf, the lord mayor's page I grew up a festival baby and came out with my dad until I was offered a contract with the mayor's enterage in '94 as the mayor's page. I've been living up to the name page for 6 years now, and I think it's time for a change. 18 years old gets a little old to be a page. |
| Jim Zappa, Street Carlo Cardinal de Giacomo, Papal Legat I began festival in 85 and have been celebrating a Saturday Evening Catholic Mass on the Festival Site since 87. As far as character, the Cardinal's position as Papal Legat seems to carry him far from Rome and he is on the way to his most recent assignment in the Kingdom's to the Far North. As he was traveling to his new position he happened upon the village festival and decided to stay for a while to "rest." He is often seen in the company of the Royal Court, the revels of the Queen's Tea (making sure the unaccompanied ladies are well attended to), and he is frequently reminding the widow Luella of her promise to enter the convent if she is married by the end of the festival (of course promising to take good care of her dowry). |

Kara Zenith, Bakery
Stage ~ Peasant Gracie Maria Pot Marigold Panini Gracie and Lily Panini make their debut at the Bakery 2004, after a season
as Tussie Mussie Flower Merchants, Merry and Lily Flowerfield in 2003.
Real life mother and daughter, Kara and Shante' Zenith, live in Red Wing,
MN with their two eccentric cats, Lucy and Ariel Aurora. Gracie loves
cooking, creatures (you may meet Luigi the frog, her pet cockroach, salamander,
mouse, rat, maybe even a woodchuck) music and husband hunting. She is
not the youngest Panini sister and not the brightest bulb on the tree.
Her much younger sister Lily seems to be her Papa appointed guardian to
keep her out of trouble and embarrassing situations. Much luck to her! |

Shante' Zenith,
Bakery Stage ~ Peasant Lilifina Teresa Katrina Maria Panini (Lily) This is my second year at Festival. Last year I played Lily Flowerfield,
Tussie-Mussie merchant, and if you saw me last year it was probably with
my sister Merry, who curently plays Gracie Panini. This year I'm playing
Lilifina Teresa Katrina Maria Panini (Lily). Lily is her sister, Gracie's
"keeper" meaning she keeps Gracie and her critters; frogs, mice,
lizards, toads, lobsters, rubber (dead) chickens, and other creepy, crawly,
slimey, slippery, digusting things that are guaranteed to make the Queen
run away in the other direction as fast as possible; out of trouble. When
Lily's not watching Gracie,or cooking at the Bakery (the family business),
or having arguments with her sisters, or hiding from them while they do
crazy things, or....... I think we'll stop there; she likes to spend her
time at the Arbor helping Myra, or making her sideline business, Tussie-Mussies(sound
familiar?) because she dosen't think the Bakery is very secure, what with
Gracie and her pets. Speaking of Tussie-Mussies; I really do make them,
and if you want a flowery (ha ha ha) message delivered come find me during
fest. The Tussie-Mussies are free but I do accept tips. Enough of that.
In real life I really do have a crazy family member but it's not Gracie
it's my mom, Kara who plays (guess who) Gracie out at fest. Mom and I
share our little house in Red Wing, MN with Ariel my mischievous little
kitten (nearly two-year-old cat) and Lucy, Mom's irritable eleven-year-old
big fat tabby cat. I love fest! Thank you all for letting me play! |

Dave Zenz, Street Obadiah Jib I first attended a Renaissance Faire in 1979 at the Bristol (then King Richards) faire. I was hooked! The event became a summer favorite and I have never missed a season. In 1990 I attended the Minnesota Renaissance Festival for the first time. When I saw that the Festival was looking for street actors I thought I would give it a try. 2003 will mark my first year as a member of the cast. |
| Jenny Zigrino, Jousting Track Genevive Marie Dessiner 2004 was my first year at fest as a cast member. I am THE ARTIST! I wear
an apron with paint splattered all over it. I am also a proud sandlot
kid! You can find me at the track at 11,1, and 4 o clock. whooah I love
my job. |

PJ Zimmerman, Shakopee Jaycees
I started in '97 on turkey crew and did that for four years until the challenge went out of it. After that I joined the Jaycees. Around my second weekend or so, I was asked if I wanted to be a pubmaster and that's what I've been doing since. |
