This morning Dottie and Mike slept late and I drove the Jaguar back to Lahaina to return it. Would you believe I went to a garage sale in a Jaguar? I bought 3 pieces of jade: a cross, a turtle, and a pendant of Quan Yin (a Buddhist goddess).
In Lahaina they also have the oldest Banyan Tree on Maui. It covers a city block all by itself. I visited a Buddhist Temple & Museum there too. When Dottie & Michael woke up, they met me for more shopping and then lunch at Bubba Gumps. Its a restaurant based on the movie Forrest Gump. (http://www.bubbagump.com/html/maui.html) The restaurant is on piers over the ocean and we had a window seat.
This
is a bus tour company on Maui.
The funny thing is Im Chinese year of the Rabbit
and theres a rabbit showing with a lei.
That evening, my friends sent me to a show called Ulalena (http://www.mauitheatre.com/). Its a play based on the myth and magic of Maui from its discovery by Polynesians to the present century. It was very beautiful with some influence from Cirque Du Soleil.
