Cain Nastrom, Former Festie Rosetta Maria Lucia Panini, Formerly Narcisse - Captain of the Stocks Starting in 1990, I think, I worked as a food booth supervisor for two
years. After getting tired of smelling of Teriaki sauce, I attended academy
and worked for Crown Stage for a couple of years, one year as assistant
stage manager. My greedy side then took over and for the next 6 years
I worked for the Stocks, two years as Captain. The money was good, but
I began to want something more and returned to entertainment. My last
few years (and the best!) were spent at the Bakery
Stage as Rosetta Maria Lucia Panini. Rosetta and her friend Ducky
enjoyed interacting with children and playing with her toys. Don't be
surprised to see her bouncing through the village again one day! |

| Jeffrey Callander,
Scottish Musician Ian MacFarlane A.D. 2003 was my first year at festival living the life of Ian MacFarlane
(Itinerant Scottish Musician). Also known as "Squeeky Wheel,"
I've had the pleasure of being recognized as much for my noisy wheelbarrow
(if not more) as for my music. 2004 saw me performing both as Ian and
as a Molly Hare. 2005 will be my third season at MRF and the second year
that I will have the pleasure of walking the grounds with my lovely Scottish
Lass Dawn, who in real life, has become my fiancé. I will be focusing
this year again on my solo act. Nothing says "Fall" like festival,
and there is no better place on earth to spend it, but in Minnesota with
the cast and crew of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. See you at the
Faire! |

| Lee Campbell,
Safety Services
I spent about 6 years traveling up and down the state of California working
with several different groups performing in smaller renaissance festivals.
After moving back to Minnesota and taking a 3 year break, I have now joined
the crew of Safety Services at the MRF. And now i realize how much I missed
the festival atmosphere. |

Denise Cardos, Shop Worker After 5 years of driving 120 miles one way almost every weekend as a patron, Festival friends convinced me to take part. In 1985, management originally invited me to take clandestine photographs while in costume, but on dress rehearsal weekend, that was changed and I spent my weekends as a wandering street person, telling stories, dispensing buckeyes for good luck, and shivering in the cold, wet, rainy/snowy weather. (Veterans who survived that year will remember it rained almost the entire run, excep! t for the last weekend, when it snowed.) For two seasons after that, I worked in a woodworker's shop, then from 1988-1991 I worked with my friend Delayne Hostetler at her Mayfaire shop. These days, I'm working on the final draft of a vampire novel (with a twist) and looking forward penning to the sequel (to be set at RenFest). |

Matthew (Hammer) Carlson, Former Shoppe
Worker
Area of festival worked: Safety Services 91-97. During that time I was blest with working with an excellent team of individuals. EC, TJ, Big Hedge, Little Hedge(gutman), Towns, Cathy, Terry, Dan, Sheri, Sarah, Mark and everyone from those years, Safety Service doing it the old school way. No cuffs, no batons, just nice until it was time to not be nice. Retired from SS after unpleasant incidence with parties to be left unnamed. Now I don a kilt and venture to my indentured servitude at MacGregor games. Continuing to respond people in crisis when the need arises. Once you put on the shiny armor and cape it is tough to tell people no when they ask for assistance. Otherwise I play with the patrons and then leave the booth to play with friends that I have had the honor to know over the years. Some of them involve me in their capers and for that I am eternally grateful. |

| David Carmichael, Street Drax Son of Malcom Well, where do I begin... I started going to the Festival as a patron
when I was 3, then I became a playtron in 1997, and now I'm a street prefomer
sence 2006. My character, Drax took a while to come up with. First he
was this, then that, but each time I chaged him he got closer and closer
to what I hoped for. When setled on what he was then the rest was cake.
If you don't know who he is, he's that little squire running around always
ready for action, you can m! ostlikely find him neer the josting area,
food court, and almost anywhere else you could think of. He's a fun character
to meet at the Festival. He follows you to places, rows his "invisiable
boat around, he'll challege you to contests of skill, and he'll even celebrate
your's or one of your friends' birthdays with everyone at the Festival. |

Chris Carter, Playtron I've attended MRF since '91, I've worked at Tall Toad's a couple of those years (performing a terrible skit entitled "squid pajama's" and marching in the parade). Mostly, though, I've just enjoyed the company of the many good and truly skilled/talented friends I've met while "hanging out" with the John & Patty Ryan. Most frequently I am often confused to be John's brother and Patty's "stunt husband" (stepping i! n whenever John is unable to perform the more physical feats of "animal husbandry"). |

Short Bio: I first came to Fest during the 2007 season and immediately
felt at home. This coming season will be my first, and hopefully, it'll
be the first of many. Outside of Fest, I play Janet and Trixie in Transvestite
Soup (Rocky Horror) and go to school for Mortuary Science. |

Portraits by NanC & Nan C Fine Arts, Portraits
Started MRF in 1978 invited as add-on portrait artist at Masquerade. Campfire soup kettles and puppy-piles in the straw! Lots of free-form sharing of music and art amongst each other, especially after hours. I would go from fire to fire, just basking in the magnificent co-creativity of everyone, and have long discussions about the secrets of life. That first welcoming year gave me the courage to apply on my own the next year, and I have loved every year since! In nearly 30 years, I've only missed four. I love the intimate setting and focus on the light that beams from within each of you when we enter the relaxed space of the portrait conversation. The Renaissance was my launching pad for World Portraits touring Alaska,
Egypt, Mexico, Paris (doing portraits there), Ireland, Norway, Russia
from 1979-1993 Current passion is coordinating artists into the ACE arts
program classroom in my N. Florida town, doing live street portraits,
giving creative workshops and sharing the "One Hour Portrait Technique"
with the NanC Method lesson on DVD! |
