Marian Van Risseghem, Street Felicity FareTheeWell, Faerie GRANDmother & Lady Marian of Worcestershire Been coming to MRF for years in a bright blue Tudor-type costume as the character: Lady Marian of Worcestershire. In 2003, I was Lady Catherine Beckett, Duchess of York at the Rosenthorne Renn in Elk River and am working on a new ( historically correct) character that I may keep permanently--Lady Catherine Maclean of the Clan Maclean, Duart Castle, Isle of Mull. I have been doing a LOT of research on the Lady Catherine and have been in contact with the Clan in Scotland, so I think the character will be a good one. It was like "she" was guiding me to all the places I needed to go to bring her to life. It was a strange experience, to say the least. I completed Academy in 2005 and have a new character, Felicity FareTheeWell,
Faerie GRANDmother. Felicity was created because I never intend to cease
entertaining & I needed a character that could "age" with
me (although we all know that faeries are immortal) Felicity can usually
be found seated between Elemental Clay & the Alchemist. Occasionally
will be found near the Leprechaun in the Secret Garden or visiting with
the Wizard & the Troll. Felicity also bestows faerie dust, unicorn
stickers, gold coins of the "Realm", & silk rose buds to
all who stop to visit. Children have discovered that faeries are not the
only ones who can create magic. The children themselves can create magic
with the magic wand, the magic word but most of all, by believing in themselves!
Felicity will sometimes be seen creating music on a zither or spinning
rose colored yarn from a drop spindle. Felicity LOVES the Minnesota Renaissance!! vanrisseghem4@aol.com |

Chrys VanDerKamp,
Shop Worker & Vilification Tennis
~ Peasant Jill the Fool 2004 was my incredible first year out at Festival, where I worked at
Will o'Wisp Candles, and in my spare time, played Jill the Fool and Bridget
O'Hatterdown, the Irish drummer. After having a wonderful time being Jill,
I will be auditioning her as a street character next year, and will hopefully
join the official cast if all goes well. |

Heidi VanderVelden, Shakopee Jaycees Beer Wench--Shakopee Jaycees Hey, I have been working at MRF since 2000 as a beer wench working as
a volunteer for the Shakopee Jaycees. Each year, I have switched from
pub to pub, but in 2004 I was in charge of our ten beer pubs out there.
So, yeah, was walking in plain clothes that year. My usual thing to do
is work every weekend and just have a blast out there. Looking forward
to the new season, 2006, coming up in August. |
Linda Vandevoort,
Shop Worker
I started going to Fest about 15 years ago and was hooked. In 2003 I
worked for Gemini Glass for the last weekend of the run. This year I have
a new job with New Wineskin's for the entire run. I have met quite a few
wonderful people there who treat me like family and look forward to seeing
everyone again. Outside of Fest I am the mother of two and do computer
work from my home. |

Jennifer Vermillion, Games Worker Jen I am a proud member of the Hugging Brigade as well as one of the Pigtail
Mafia. I can be found working at Children's Trilogy of Games, teasing
all the adults I get to play my games. Otherwise I can be found at the
Tortuga Twin's stage or running around hugging people. Stop by for a hug
or two. iyesta_onysablet@yahoo.com |
Dylan Vidas, Musician ~ Drunk
and Disorderly I started in '99 on a whim. Seemed like a good idea at the time. I was
in entertainment for two years and then we decided to form D & D (best
new act that year y'know?). Since then I've been pretty content to stay
in or near the pubs of Festival playing my guitar all day long. Blah blah
blah - bliggity - bloo . . . dylan@drunkanddisordelry.com |

james virkus, Shop Worker Sir James Bardling, Prince Wesley Troubadocious Niles III First came to the mn renfest in 97 in civies when i first caught the
bug. In 2000 was my first time in costume and caught a full blown case
of Renfest naturally picking up street by saying things like "O'my
gosh. Its A Flying Dragon!" .I have been attending for at least one
weekend a year ever since. Even being sent overseas couldn&#! 39;t
stop me from getting my renfest fix in 04. I worked last year at the troubadore
stage a couple hours a day, and when I was off I was told to go play in
the street. my chareter Sir James Bardling, knighted for meritorious actions
after a battle, charged with finding new musicians for the king, was drastically
changed when i saw a large set of black fairy wings. I was given the Monicer
of the west nile fairy after it was noticed that i was ready to swoop
to the rescue of a fellow fairy that was in danger of being caught by
a fairy catcher. I then assumed the title Prince Wesley Troubadocious
Niles the III Captain of the Border Gaurd of the Fairy Realm. I then was
taken under the wing of the Fairy Grandmother Felicity as body gaurd.
Like Last year I plan to be at the fest this year as much as possible. |
