Jennifer Taylor, Royal Court I started performing at festival during the 2000 Season, I was one of the Ladies on Dais for the joust track, I don't know if you would call that an actual stage but it worked for me. I was a Patron for a few years Starting in 1997, I had been going at least twice a year since then and never had given a thought about performing until 1999, when I attended Fest as a patron but decided to spice thing up by practicing my English Accent THE ENTIRE DAY! I was fortunate that my friends did not mind so my secret was safe with them. Through-out the day I kept getting comments and compliments on my accent (From patrons, the people from the food booths, just about every other person stopped me to ask where I was from and so on) Our group stopped to learn how to juggle and the guy at that booth was telling me how I would probably fit in really well as a performer. So of course I picked his brain for details about how I could get in the following year. I think I must have called MAF at least once a month until I finally received the newsletter in the mail, I felt like I had won the Very last GOLDEN TICKET. I had a blast during Fest, Let me tell you that there is nothing like wearing 4-5 Layers of Clothing on a hot August day, but then again you all probably know this :). The Season ended and I was very sad when I found out I was being forced to relocate to Kansas City, MO. I was pretty upset about not being able to come back to MRF but I convinced myself That The KCRF was better then nothing, I am definitely not putting down the KCRF, But I really wanted to come back and play with my Family I put up a stiff upper lip and auditioned and surprisingly got the part I wanted in their Royal Court, I was very happy , I almost had gotten over my disappointment about not being in MRF, but then. As if a miracle had been handed to me from the powers that be, I got a job offer Back here in MN, I made my apologies to the KC Entertainment Director and hightailed back here All the while calling Erin at least once a week to see I still had a spot to come back to. So here I am, Ready and anxious to start this year and Ready for whatever hills that are on the path before me. |

Curtis Teague,
Musician ~ Haymarket Minstrels
We (Loretta Simonet and Curtis
Teague) started performing at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival in 1987.
We are wandering minstrels, and can be seen at stages such as Folkstone,
Troubadour, and Mac's Pub, among other spots! We are full-time professional
musicians. When we're not at the Festival, where we perform under the
name Haymarket Minstrels, we're traveling the Midwest and across the U.S.,
performing as the folk duo "Curtis & Loretta." We were named
"Best Acoustic Performers of the Twin Cities" by City Pages
in 2002. We offer tight vocal harmonies, and several stringed instruments,
including Celtic harp, mandolin, and mandocello. (Plus guitar, banjo,
ukulele, and harmonica when we're out on the folk circuit!) curtisandloretta@yahoo.com |

Char Thomasson, King of the Log Charlena I have been involved in King of the Log since 1989. I have been a coordinator
of volunteers for our both and on our managing Guild for a number of years.
You can find me under our arbor braiding hair, supervising and organizing
our site activities and enjoying the company of our many fine volunteers.
Join us for our after hours tournament and party. I keep mostly to myself,
but I love to enjoy and watch all of you in all of your merriment, humor
and amazing talents. You bring me great peace, happiness, inspiration
and memories. Come play our game. I love a good game of checkers, when
you are free for a break. |

Cat (Carolyn Marie) Thompson, Shakespeare's
Love Child I started out on street in 2003 as Rin, resident mud sculptor and quirky
peasant. In '03 & '04, I was involved with Cappa Ferro Productions'
Human Combat Chess. In 2005 I joined Shakespeare's Love Child as a mezzo
soprano, and things have never been better! My favorite part of the 2005
season was stumbling out of the campground half asleep, scaling the Ramp
of Doom, and starting off my cool, foggy Sunday mornings with "Ave
Verum Corpus" at Folkstone. I feel truly blessed to perform with
such a creative, supportive group of people. |

John Thompson, Shakopee Jaycees People ask if I bear any resemblance to my character. Of course not. John the Bastard is a beer-swilling letch in tights who hits on anything that moves. John Thompson is a beer-swilling letch in *jeans* who hits on anything that moves. Totally different! I started with the Fencing Booth back in '96, met a whole bunch of incredibly cool people--and my future wife--and haven't missed a year since. In mid-2K, my wife Juli and I went over to the Jaycees and I got my dream job--pouring beer(some of it even makes it to the patrons)!! We actually became full-fledged Jaycees in 2001 and occasionally run the Royal Court Pub whenever our esteemed Pubmasters need a break. The wife and I have our pics on Alenaa's fest page--see the URL provided. |
Joy Thompson MacArthur, CKC Joy the Mead Girl I have been the busty and unabashedly flirtatious purveyor of the finest
mead at MRF (yes that would be the mead at the Royal Vintry) since 2003.
At fest, you can almost always find me at the Mead Booth, though I've
been known to wander off to find a friendly face to supply the ice for
my bodice cooler... When not at fest, I can be found singing with One
Voice Mixed Chorus, in some sort of bizarre course in education at the
U of M, or performing as a scantily clad chanteuse at Lili's Burlesque
Revue. |

Tirzah Treece, Royal Court Lady Taryn is the only daughter of an earl and the granddaughter of a duke. She was always indulged by the men in her life and is somewhat willful. As a child she followed the Princess everywhere and was always up for a lark. Now that she is a young woman, she has been sent to court to find a husband and become a lady. Upon arriving, Taryn immediately went to the Princess to ask for help in avoiding marriage. The Princess made Taryn her handmaiden and now they run around the village looking for mischief. When I was in fourth grade I came to the festival for the first time. I saw the Court gambling and decided that one day I would do that too. I started in the Mayor's Entourage in 2001 and had four wonderful years as the Mayor's handmaiden that he won in a card game. 2005 is my first year on the Royal Court and I couldn't have enjoyed myself more. In real life I am going to school to become a Massage Therapist. I love
what I do but can't wait for next season. I hope to have an even better
year now that I have found my niche on the court. |

Jaylene Tronstad, Shakopee Jaycees According to Jaycee rumor, I have been at the festival for 12 years and have spent the last 10 at a pub called Jesters. (Lovingly re-named Chesters, since most of the volunteers end up being lovely, voluptuous women!) It is located between First Aid and Balloon Fencing. Please come by and say HI! We are pretty secluded in that neck of the woods! |

Narrows Travellers Cart 91-96, Pendragon Costumes (AZ and MN) 1997 My temporary sabbatical has essentially turned into retirement. I still
spend nearly every weekend in costume wandering around site, but now it's
just as an O'Brennan groupie and mom to Aidan Peltzman, who loves being
there every bit as much as his dad. Real world activities include stage
managing and turning mounds of fabric into functional accessories. |

Maggie Turner,Royal Court&
Bakery Stage I started in '93 working for Crystal Stixs, spent '94 working for the one hit wonder Crafters Hekpers. After being asked multiple times, "So your not an entertainer?" and being told to pick up my check in the entertainment office. I decided to make the leap and have been working entertainment ever since. Having played many characters including Estella Stitchetti (the one with a tomato pincushion on her head) I have finally settled in as the youngest daughter of the Panini family. When I'm not in costume chances are I'm running around taking pictures for Mid-America. Did I mention I'm a photographer?... |

Former Festie ~ The Sheriff's
Men Sgt Adarms The Sheriff's Men (aka the SM or the Maroons) were formed in 1979 to
act as guards for the royal court and to be the Sheriff of Nottingham's
(Bill Lochen) henchmen. Much to the Sheriff's dismay, the SM rapidly became
more like keystone kops than elite guards. The original group consisted
of a band of high school friends from Burnsville. The SM disbanded after
the 1984 season when we all graduated from college and went off to seek
fame and fortune elsewhere. |
