Scotty Roberts,
Prince's Man Sir Gerald of Lancaster, Gentleman Pensioner; Prince Phillip's Man & Compatriot; Founding member: Ten Seconds of Harmony CHARACTER: Sir Gerald ("Gerry," as his close friends call him... "Geritol," as Prince Phillip likes to call him) is a former school mate and carousing buddy of Prince Phillip's. He is the second son to the Earl of Lancaster, making him a trust-fund baby, but titleless. He has been knighted under the auspices of the Prince to be his monarchically-mandated body guard, man-at-arms, compatriot and... errr... drinking companion. Generally, all officious business gets pushed aside for the latter, and they get each other into more trouble than not. Sir Gerald can be found wandering the streets with the Royal Prince, or singing with his little friends in Ten Seconds of Harmony. PERSONAL: I reside in Saint Paul, MN and have wonderful, sweet twin daughters
(shown on my personal page) and a beautiful, robust, good natured young
son. They are the lights of my life. I, along with Bill Lochen, John Neitz,
Dan Kujawski, Stephen Katzenburger, Eric Nelson and several other Fest
friends and cohorts, am one of the founding members of "The 42nd
Highland Regiment," a living history troupe that recreates the Highland
Scots of the 42nd Regiment [the Black Watch] during the French & Indian
War (circa 1759). So when I am not "Renaissancing," I am "Red-Coating." scotty@taverntent.com |

I'm 19, a student at St. Kates, been at Fest for four years at the maypole
(may it rest in peace). I started in 2002 after a friend mentioned casually
in 2005 that she danced out at Ren Fest, and I asked how I could do that,
and the rest is history. Usually (the past few years) I could be seen
at the maypole, obviously, or gallavanting about the street between shows,
mostly hanging around the juggling school or at volleyclub or wreaking
havoc elsewhere. I'm also awful at writing these bio things. |

Anna Roedler, Herpetological Society Core Volunteer (former) I started volunteering at the Como Cottage as a Como Zoo volunteer in 1996. When the MN Herpetological Society took full responsibility for the cottage I became a member of their core volunteer group for two years before having to move to Arizona (I am working on my MA). The 1999 season was the last time I was at MRF, but I will be back for the 2002 season (I hope!). I don't have a character name, but I could usually be seen "on fence" at Como Cottage with one of my reptiles as well as in the parade. |

Over the years, I have gotten to know many wonderful people. I have seen
characters and performers come and go. Each has taught me something about
myself and people in general. Aside from being an engineer, I have been
making a lot of wine and dry mead on the side. Zins, Wht Merlot, Liebfraumilch,
etc. You name it, I'll make it!1996 thru 2000 - Tavern Keep canus_mynx@yahoo.com |

Mary Rohe, Street Rowena (Weenie) 2006 was my 17th year as an Entertainer - though I still don't feel like an old-timer out here. I have worn many hats so far: bus greeter, street character, production staff, big body puppet, entertainment liaison to marketing for pre-season parades and events, blah, blah, blah. The character I have played the longest is Weenie (Rowena) the Pied Piper's Less Illustrious Sister - he's still pretty mad about how I lost those kids from Hamlin. Due to some pretty serious health problems, I haven't been able to be
quite as active the last few years. Since 2003, I have been portraying
the Festival mascot - The Unicorn. Her name is Pansy and she likes long
quiet walks in the forest with virgins, candied flowers and hugs. You
can usually find Pansy at the opening gate, parade, and walking around
the village looking for those hugs. No one is too old, young, or cool
for a hug. |

Tracy Roorda, Chess Match Dulcinea de L'Couer I started at fest 23 years ago in a booth. I moved to the street when I was 18 and worked with the Human Combat Chess Game. 10 years ago I left fest and 2 years ago (2001) I returned to co-manager the Chess Game. It has been great! I have played many characters during my time with the game. My favorite was Alex, First Mate to Capt. Henry Morgan. on the Revenge. Now you can usually find me at the Unicorn Stage. |

Andrew Rose, Fencing Booth A bouncy, energetic Scotsman who came to our faire in '91. He's very pleased to meet you and make you laugh, if you don't laugh he'll insult you until you either laugh, fight or flee! Watch out for his kilt... I wander around and try to meet everyone I can. I usually catch tennis and will be at either the closing gate show or Drum Jam. If you're in a fix and I'm not behind horse gate, check the juggling shows... |

Sherry Roth, Street "Mom" to many who know me, Editor/Publisher of "The Knight After" and street character who was featured in the August 22, 1998 Mpls Star Tribune Variety Section of the paper (which was quite a surprise when I was initially contacted by the paper!). I had been a patron for about 10 years before I was encouraged by Bill Peltzman (our dear Mayor) to audition. I mulled it over and got some tips/advice from Bill Lochen (our Sheriff Extraordinaire) while researching decorating ideas for my oldest daughters all night graduation party-A Night At Camelot. Thanks to both Bills and my childrens encouragement (I am forever indebted to them), I got up the nerve to audition in 1989. That was scary I sat up all night before the audition trying to think of what to do. Finally, I wrote a poem about how scared I was. Arriving at the audition the next day, I was surrounded by so many college youngsters (I was the ripe old age of 38) and thought, What the h*ll am I doing here at my age? My husband at the time said, I didnt drive you up here for you to back out! With my lower lip quivering, I got up on stage and belted out my poem Am I as good as I wish to be? The rest is history Im still here! (And my ashes will probably be spread at the site someday.) 1999 Keeper and Guardian of our Unicorn Mascot Of course, the highlight of my years at Fest was in September 1995 when I married my present (and last!) husband, Brad. Both Brad and I are very proud to be part of The Phoenix Project. May it prosper and flourish with helping those in need! son: Brandon, Cedric Thorne McBoodle |

the Children's Trilogy of Games. I have since created Lady Leanetta Senza
Fine' who is off looking for a marriage of convenience since older Italian
nobles are trying to force her to marry them as they want her land. She
is of the opinion that she is capable of taking care of her land herself.

Butch Roy, Puppet
Troupe & Vilification Tennis I started festival when I was 15 with CKC, where I worked for two years in a greasy onion rings booth by the falconer's stage, it sucked but I did meet my soon to be partner George working in a greasy seafood booth. I attended academy prior to my third year and joined the puppet troupe right out of the gates. The one day I missed cast call in my fourth year George signed the both of us up to play vilifcation tennis and the rest is history. I am happy that the last couple years my son, Anthony, has been joining me at festival. |

Donna Royce,
Shop Worker Lady Donna Marie Royce I had been wanting to go to a Renaissance Festival for
over 15 years and I finally got my chance in August of 2003. I was hooked
from the moment I walked through the front gate. I was so enamored of
Festival that I joined the Renaissance Festival working for CKC at booth
# 1536 ("Rose Cart") in the Folkstone Welly area on 08-21-04.
In 2005, I started working for The Midsummer Knight's Dream.
(www.fantasypuppet.com) I will be working with them again this year and
I will be learning to repair sick puppets as well. Please stop by and
visit us there. We have many wonderful babies that need loving homes.
Would you give a woodbaby a loving home? I spent the last
festival camping at the campgrounds for the entire run and I loved it.
Where else outside of a national park can one go to sleep at night listening
to the wolfs and foxes talking to each other and wake up to nothing but
the sounds of birds and chipmunks at play? It is even a kick to sit next
to your tent, having a cup of coffee and say Good morning to you
sir snake to a ribbon snake going past your tent and have the little
thing stop, look at you and nod to you (I swear the little thing was saying
good morning back to me.) and then go on his way. I could not find a better
bunch of people to call my friends and family then festival people. I
will be camping at festival and staying there during the entire run of
festival again this year. I dare you to try and drag me out of there before
festival is over! Camping at festival for the entire run is my treat to
myself for putting up with what we laughingly call The Real World
for 10 months a year. I am now a Mary Kay makeup consultant
(As of May the 15th 2006.) and I will be available to assist anyone that
needs makeup help during any week of festival. I have items for the ladies
and the men and I have makeup remover and face creams for the entertainers
that have to use a lot of makeup in their performances as well as sun
screen for those that do not use makeup. Just stop by The Foxes
Den in the campgrounds during the week or drop by The Midsummer
Knights Dream and make a quick appointment during the weekend
for the following week. I can also be contacted at the email link listed
below for appointments during non festival months. On the title of Lady
Royce. The title is a real one due to my Grandfather being from
"The House Of Royce" in Devonshire, England. He was "Lord
Emmet Royce." When he passed away, the title passed to my Mum and
when she passed away, it was passed to me. So I am legally Lady
Donna Marie Royce, House of Royce, Devonshire, England. I just wish
I had the money, castle and property that come with the title. I would
be heading to England so fast that your head would never stop spinning
and then set up the grandest Renaissance Festival you have ever seen,
right on the castle grounds. I am totally in love with the festival &
here is why. Ever since my Mum had to move with my brothers & I, away
(To far to travel too conveniently.) from the Sequoia mountains in Northern
California that she & I loved so much, I have felt totally out of
place. The festival & the grounds it occupies have put me back in
my place, and I can not help but to love it there. All the forests of
the world have a magic & a power there, (The older the forest the
better.) & they are willing to share this gift with anyone that is
willing to accept it. Are you willing to accept this gift? My friend Pam
& I have finished our first fantasy story based on MRF and the fox
tails sold there. It is titled The Foxes Of Renaissance. (web
site below). We would like all of you to read a bit of it and give us
your input. We are now working on a follow-up story and will post this
one when we have a bit of it done and will be incorporating all input
from the first story into this second story. Keep in mind that this will
be a rough draft and your input WILL BE incorporated into the final draft.
Until this festival season, (And I Will Be There!) Huzza To The Royal
Family And The MRF. donna_royce@yahoo.com, lroyce2@marykay.com |

Emily Ruff,
Mayor's Entourage Delia Beatrice Cooper My character, Delia Beatrice Cooper, first appeared on site in 2004 (brought
there by the Sterling family). She is the daughter of Damien Bartholomew
Cooper and great-niece of Lord Mayor William Cooper. Shortly after Delia's
birth, her mother lost her memory in a tragic bathing accident and they
were both sent away to a convent in the south of France, where they lived
until Delia was 17. It was then that her mother died and the nuns told
Delia, who had been very bored at the convent, that her father was a merchant
with some property and connections. So, Delia went to England, determined
to find her father and then a husband so that she could one day inherit
whatever it was her father had. |

Stage Act ~ The Adventures of Robin
Hood Little John 2004 will be David's 13th year being involved with the Adventures of
Robin Hood. He started out playing Friar Tuck, but this will be his 6th
year as Little John. You can find him down on the Sherwood Stage four
times a day recreating the scene where Little John and Robin Hood First
met, where they show off their skills in stage combat using staff, sword
and of course, their bare fists. Their goal once again this year will
be to soak as many patrons in the first four rows as possible. On a good
day, David has been known to splash all the way back to the 8th row. |
