BJ Palashewski, Street
& Vilification Tennis
~ Peasant Hayrold the peasant I've been at the M.R.F. since 1991 and it truly is home for me. I went thru academy and was drafted by "The Hungry Hawkers" which amused me until '93. It was then that I discovered the Hay Roll, and Hayrold. By '98 I realized that there was a whole world of mischief that I must go and find, and with the help of my insanely creative family, we opened the realms only 4 star privy, skied across the fair grounds, laid siege to the food courts, "rebuilt" the chappel and dined from the trash... for starters. Also, in '98, I decided to let my inner bad man out and joined the vilification
tennis crew as one half of the team Pogh Ma Thoin. -Gaelic lesson of the
day - just say it like a true Minnes-oh-tan. Though Hayrold has remained constant since the beginning, I've been known to impersonate an Irish gypsy (Harlequin), an old scavenger (Widget), and a shrubbery (Russle). In "real" life, I grew up in north Minneapolis, but now live
"up north in the cabin on the lake". I own a custom crafting
business that I am attempting to expand into furniture. I work with leather,
wood, chain maille, fabric, etc. if you can dream it, I can make it. (or
I know someone who can *grin*) |

Rebecca Parke, Former Crafter
I worked out at fest for a few years taking appointments for LaJeanne, the psychic hand reader by the fencing booth, and also worked the fencing booth one year. I stopped working at fest mostly because of patron burnout, but I still enjoy going out to visit and keep up with the "buzz" around the grounds. :) |

Dan Patton, Street Aodh (pronounced a) The Idiot 2004 marked my 10th year at MRF. In that time I have been a stage hand
and stage manager at Crown stage. I have eaten fire on stage with the
Dragons Duel Fire Show. I have taught countless people how to juggle at
the Juggling booth (although I never officially worked there) and now
I am an idiotic street character named Aodh. |

Patty Patzman, Royal
Scottish Country Dance Society
I have been dancing with the RSCDS for 11 years and been performing
with them at the Ren Fest for the last 10 years. I love being a member
of our little group of Scottish peasants and joining in with the other
Festies. To come watch and even join in with us, just follow the sounds
of the wonderful Highland Bagpipes. |
| Kristine Paul, Stage Act Maya Al-Ammal I joined the MRF in 2003 as Maya Al-Ammal, one of The Dancing Ammala Sisters. You can find my sisters and I dancing (sometimes amid puddles of kerosene and water) on the Gypsy Stage! |
