On an aside, did I tell you I've been to Hawaii? In March 1999 I became President of the Phoenix Project, an independent non-profit organization dedicated to helping people involved in the arts communities in times of crisis and need. On June 26, 2006, Steven and I appeared on the front page, above-the-fold, of the St Paul Pioneer Press from being in the GLBT Pride Parade with the MRF! Lately I've been working in a couple of shops. I've worked for William & Elizabeth Lloyd, selling some of the most beautiful swords around; for Gary and Suzy Zahradka, giving pee breaks and such as they sell their beautiful art. In 2008, I became Raphael's Bitch, helping out the Tortuga Twins, or them helping me, you decide. Thanx guys! I needed that.

Nancy Schultz, MRF Grounds Manager I've been with MRF since 1991 and have been on staff every since. It
started out as merely a job change and became my obsession (or as my husband
calls it,"a cult"). Some people just don't understand~can anyone
relate? I've been thru lots of changes over the past 11 years but still
can't think of anything else I would rather do. Taking care of the Grounds
is just a part of it~being part of this "family" is what keeps
me here. |

Aaron Schumacher, Bakery Stage Luigi Augustino Panini. Ever since my sister, Carly Schumacher, joined Fest, she has been working
on getting the whole family to participate, or at least dress up. A few
years after she started, she convined my mom, Debra Schumacher, to join.
Last year, 2007, when relatives came from out of town, Carly convinced
us all to go in costume. I spent most of Fest unofficially assisting the
Bakery Stage. They asked me to come back this year, hopefully officially.

Debra Schumacher,
King of the Log ~ Peasant
I've been attending the festival since my kids were little, and last
year my daughter Carly (aka Maisie) insisted I come out as a playtron.
I had a great time wandering about in garb, being mistaken for a performer.
So, this year I'll be volunteering some mornings at King of the Log. I
already know some of you, and have my (adopted) fest children (Bunny,
Cat, Em, Jen McA) that call me Momma Schu. I can hardly wait to make even
more friends this year. See you at the faire! "Help, I've fallen
off the log, and I can't get up!" |

Julie Schumacher, Shop Worker ~ Ruth
Thompson Tarnished Images the gypsy Jules 2000 was first year working at fest after 3 years of being a "Playtron" in similar character/dress. Tentative plans with friends to develop street characters in future; also plans to be a crafter/artist in the future. 23 year old single mother of a beautiful wee barin (who has also attended 2 years of fest with me as a dashingly handsome Scotsman, Sir Jamison). Makes original costume pieces for self, family and friends. Blessings to all I have met, and all that I shall. |

Thomas Seiler,
Formerly with Safety Services
Joined MRF for the 2001 season working Safety services. Sat a gate all
that year checking your passes. For the last two years I have patrolled
site in the red and gold uniform. I have met alot of great people and

I enjoy doing. |

Missy Seither, Children's
Trilogy of Games Meara Ciran Fayak Well lets see the first time I went to fest I was 9, so 20 years ago
this year! So um 1986?! Sounds right to me. My parrents got married out
there and I was hooked. I've worked some shops, I've worked CKC (EWWWWWWWWWWWWW)
but Most recently I've been running Childrens Trilogy of Games for Dave
E. I've got a great crew most of the time, and I don't know what I'd do
with out them. :-) My charactor?! Irish lass?.... ya that works. I have
long black hair as can be seen in my pick and my costumes are either green/black:
green/red: all black or black and red. I'm hard to miss expecially when
I'm chained to the booth. |

Charlotte Seth, CKC
I started working at the Renaissance Festival when I was 16, in the
year 2000. I'm looking for more options as to find my nitch in the festival.
But until then you can usually find me across from the stockade calling
everyone in line for soup "sheep." |

Patrick Serrano, Terpsichory Dance Troupe 2001 is the 3rd year that I've been dancing along with my fellow members of Terpsichory. Its been an enjoyable experience stepping to the other side of the curtain, from patron to performer. Richard is outspokenly a member of the merchant class. When there is a castle to be built, new lands to discover, or a city state to overthrow....he's the guy to go to for the cash to pull it off. On loan with interest of course... He has come to The Village to search for new financial endeavors. |

Sean Sexton, Former Festie Grimaldi Panini I ran the juggling school booth from roughly 1990 through 1997, teaching
hundreds of kids and grown-ups how to juggle three balls--and loving every
second of it. I miss my good friends the Paninis, from the Bakery stage,
and also have fond memories of marching in parades with the Maypole Dancers.
I'm now married to lovely wife Joana, and we live in Prior Lake with our
daughter Lucy, born in 2004. |

I started working at the fair in 1983 at the jail bait age of 14. I work the occasional weekend year after year, but keep in touch constantly with my life long festival friends. I was a minstrel with Sara Diedrich for a few years. We were the Mistresses of Melody. I did a Commedia troupe in '85 and have been working for Mark Duran at Wood, Willow and Whatnot for many years. |

Becca Shaffner,Court Revelers 2001 was my rookie year with Festival and with Shakespeares Love Child . What an experience! I learned lifetimes of information in a heartbeat working with Dayna and Bruce. In my third year I did a solo show designed for the Children's Realm. It was just easier to keep an eye on my kids that way. Working at Fest, I know the truth and beauty of the words, "It takes a village to raise a child." Lucky me, I know just where to find a village! 2006 will be my second year with my new family, the Court Revelers. I'm
tickled pink! But I'll be very demure on the street. Ladies aren't supposed
to be terribly overt..unless nobody's looking. |

Andy Shaw, Stage Act I started out at the Ren Fair in '94working in a CKC booth selling fried "food". As exciting as that was I decided to quit after one day and move onto the games department which I did for two years- one of those supervising the ill fated climbing wall in the children's realm. Since the year two thousand I have been participating as an entertainer- and as of this last year I have been a part of The Dragon's Guild (a division of F.I.R.E. Inc.) as Chagrin performing various fire stunts around the Festival.

Katrina Sheldon, Shop Worker ~ Fellowship Foundry & The Riddle Booth Katrina Sheldon has worked at (well, has stood behind the counter of) the Fellowship Foundry for three seasons (2003 will be her fourth). Having lured her two closest friends to the festival as well, the foundry now boasts quite a few sweet young things ready to sell you something to keep your liquor in . In the afternoon, Katrina spends her time visiting random friends and acquaintances, having earned her the nickname "Flit" (thanks Eric). Trying to find her? Some places to check include: Gypsy Stage (the Dragon's Duel is amazing); Crown Stage (those darn Tortugas), the smoker, anywhere Drunk and Disorderly is playing (they aren't just a band... they're a way of life); the Queen's Pub; and of course, the closing gate show. |

Rich Shepardson, Stage ~
The Riddle Booth I have been an entertainer at Fest since 1983. I was a Master in the original Thieves' Guild. I worked as one of the body puppets for several years. I even became a denizen of the Blue Lion Tavern and was crew for both the Track and Crown Stage. That's about 10 years of relative obscurity, and learning to do Street with Jac Martins. I was working at Crown Stage when, Walt (Math the Wizard) Napiorkowski asked me to join him at the Hollow Hill or Hobbit Hole. After spending a weekend down at the KC Faire collecting a toll of a rock from passing patrons and remembering the character of Winston the Ogre in Terry Gilliam's "Time Bandits," I came up with the Bertrum Russell the Troll. That year I was proud to be nominated for the "Late Bloomer" award, and even prouder to receive the acclaim from my peers. In the last few years I have also performed wedding ceremonies as the Troll. The Troll even sits in with the band Reve du Faun from time to time. The 2002 season will be my 20th show. Trollblades@hotmail.com |

Amber Shields, Shop Worker Chocolate Wench I started working at Ren Fest in 2004, but have been a patron with my
family since I was a kid--2006 will be our 20-year anniversary of Festival
attendance! You can find me hawking chocolate turtles and strawberries,
hopefully at Bakery again this year, sometimes as a pirate wench, sometimes
a blushing maiden. In real life, I work at the study abroad office at
the University of MN and am pursing my MA in Linguistics. |

Harley D. Shupe, Games Worker Lord Jaden Alexander Blackstone, Knight of the Ebon Mask. The Oathbreaker. New to the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, 2009 will be my first year
