Jennifer McAlpine, Street Robby MacAlpin I started at the festival just this last summer. Robby is the part of my personality that doesn't get to come out and play at school or at work- blunt, dirty (in the literal needs a bath sense), slow, and trusting. Robby is just a herder who wanders around in no particular hurry. As a result, I'll generally be seen on any given street, occasionally running to try to catch up with my imaginary sheep. Sometimes I like to sit by the sheep pen at the petting zoo too. I'm often accompanied by my brother Kenneth (a.k.a. Jonathan). In May I (Jennifer) will graduate from the University of Minnesota and become a grown-up. |

Jonathan McAlpine, Street Kenneth MacAlpin (Sheep Flawka, Sheep Chaser) I began in the year 2002 and have been chasing my sheep ever since. The greatest thing I have learned about fest is the love of a family that is so large that it takes a field that is acres upon acres large, just for our fun times. |

Mike McCallum, Childrens Trilogy of Games
I've been working at the festival since 2003. Did my first 3 years in
the 600 smoothies booth before freeing myself and joining the Childrens
Trilogy of Games in 2006. If I'm not out front I can usually be found
in our back area either working on chainmail or doing some random project. |

Daniel J. McCloud,
Street - Robert The Black Mcleod - another dirty Scotsman 2006 is my rookie year at MRF. I joined because my younger
sister, Raquel, wanted to be an actress at the festival and she needed
a guardian. Well, she becomes the little princess and I become the peasant,
we all know who has the talent in the family, otherwise the world has
a sense of humor. Before I came to fest I was a US marine for 5 years
in the infantry and I am graduating this spring from the U of M with a
degree in philosophy. My character, Robert the dirty Scot,
can be seen stomping around streets and in general finding himself in
trouble with anyone, of higher standing or not. I like to frequent the
any place that has people drinking (aka free beer tasting, BLT parties,
etc), because I like an easy audience! I am also a professional percussionist
outside of Fest, and can be found performing hand percussion for my friends
in the Herpetological Society (Snake Dancers), the street fire performers
(Ariel and troupe), and at the closing day drum jam

James McConnell,
Fencing Booth
Greetings, I'm James. I work at the Fencing Booth and have been for a couple years. Before that, I worked in Games for a few years at Jacob's Ladder and Sliding Joust. I am now a full fledged ringmaster, and I wouldn't work anywhere else. I am a musician, and myself, Cole McDonald and Dave & Rhonda Plantenberg play in a band called No Purchase Necessary. We opened for Lojo in the 2002 season down at the new stage in the campground. You might see us around after hours roaming site with our guitars, just jammin and reveling with many friends. |

Melissa McConnell,
Fencing Booth&
Vilification Tennis Malenkia I'm Melissa McConnell, also know as Marty, also known as Malenkia. I've been out at fest since '96 when I worked at the Pavilion. Did that for a couple years then went to front gate and had much much fun. Took a year off to do the school thing and raise a kid and realized I missed Fest way more than I thought I would. Came back in 2001 and worked at the Fencing Booth, I think I finally found a home there. The only constant in this whole adventure has been doing Vilification Tennis since my first year out, the first few years with Wilsom and now teamed with Fitz (What the Hell am I thinking?!). Hope to keep on doing that for as long as I can and have no plans to ever "take some time off" again. |

Angi McCoy, Shakopee Jaycees I started fest in 1997, with a break in 1998 and I have been there every year since then. I can be found at any number of pubs pouring beer or hanging out at Horsegate between shifts. I am a (soon to be) divorced mother of two. My daughter Morgyn is almost 4 and my son Leif is almost 2. |

Cole McDonald, Fencing Booth I started working MRF in 1989. I had been patroning since 1984. I was hanging around the fencing booth and off-handedly asked one of the employees there "How does one go about getting a job here". The response? "One talks to me". Over the next week, I slapped together a costume and learned to buy proper tights...don't ask! I've worked at the fencing booth for 14 years so far and don't see an end in sight. My suggestion to folks asking how I've pulled off this tremendous feat? Don't take the politics too seriously. Every night, I hug Bufford T. and play my guitar w/ my friends somewhere onsite. I try to just walk around at night at least once a run. Memories are plentiful at fest. I'd be happy to have you in some of them! -Cole McDonald -Ringmaster -UMFC Kings' Academy of Arms Fencing Booth knightscape@charter.net |

Megan K. McDonald, Street & Front
Gate The Gnome I grew up at the Renaissance Festival, my mother (Catherine McDonald)
was in a coral group. I officially started at festival when I was fifteen
in 1999 after attending academy. I started out as one of the many peasants
in the peasant crew, you know before Drunk and Disorderly. I am now the
Gnome, thanks to an off hand comment by The Thieves. I have a giant red
hat. I hang out in the secret garden and the children's realm. I also
work front gate. I speak manly to children as I am a magical creature.
That is why I am normally found with an abnormal amount of signs. It is
good luck to hug a gnome. If you hug me, you may get an I HUGGED A GNOME
ribbon. Hooray! Everybody loves The Gnome. |

Colleen McLain, Playtron & Minister I worked the first Ren from a trailor at a completely diferent site in the 70's. Little did I know that then that someday as an ordained minister, with a cheeky sense of humour, I would now be performing weddings at MRF. I feel so fortunate to have made so many great friends this year. I so look forward to next. |

James McManus, Street & Shop Worker Seamus Donald Stephan McManus, Baronette of Knoc Narea, Heir to the Barony of Sligo I, Seamus McManus, am Warlord of the McManus. As people here seem concerned about those silly English titles... know that I am Baronette of Knoc Narea and heir to the Barony of Sligo. Upon returning to the Islands from mercenary work on the Continent...we discovered a very odd thing: it seems the King had taken our lands for his own use. To make this even more peculiar, we didn't really notice. The only troops near abouts with even theoretical allegiance to the English Crown were our own. We were certainly not to take our own lands away from we ourselves.... Hearing that a Festival would be held with Great Lorda and Ladies, Skilled Crafters, Visiting Royalty and other Honored Guests, I decided to see what Troub... that is....what Adventure I could find at Festival. After stealthily finding my way into the Village, I was eventually discovered! As a great turnabout, I was asked to join the Town Guard. When I discovered the duties, I undertook them happily: We were to guard the valuables of the Kingdom - the Belly Dancers and the Wine. Guard, pour and sample them...the Wine that is. Since that time, they have replaced the Town Guard with the King's own Fancy Soldiers. The Wine and Dancers are not nearly as closely protected. Now, I, Lord Seamus, found myself in opposition to some of the rulers of this place by protecting several Shopkeepers against Tyranny. Now, rather than "working" upon the Streets, I serve as a hired Warrior for some of the Shopkeeps. The most obvious of these shopkeepers are the purveyors of Chainmaille Fashions. In this capacity I am oft' known to spend time on the street guarding beautiful ladies in small metal outfits. If they should get carried off, we would not only have to rebuild the chainmaille, but we would lose good customers as well. (And no, Good Sirs, you cannot have my job, no matter the nature of your bribe...) |
