Irish Cottage/Bakery Stage Food Fight |
Each year on Labor Day, the Irish and the Italians try to prove
just who are the best cooks at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. 1998
proved to be no different. The Irish Cottage, represented by Brianna Morgan
(Barb Everson) present their entry.
The Judge, the Lord Mayor William Cooper (William Peltzman)
assesses the first entry.
The Italians don't look particularly happy.
The Bakery Stage and Panini Family, represented by Isabelle
Panini (Kirsten Petersen) present their entry.
Even though We, Their Royal Highnesses, Puph & Phluff, always
give the Baker Stage and Panini Family Our Royal Patronage, it sometimes saddens
us to admit that the Panini's are not above a little cheating to push their
own agendas. Here the Paninis are offering to bribe the Lord Mayor with alcohol
drenched, chocolate covered strawberries nestled in their best assets.
Nice presentation but oh well.
The bribe didn't seem to work as the Lord Mayor pronounced the
Irish Cottage the winners (booooooooo) as can be seen in this photo. You can
see Brianna raising her fist in victory, Isabelle's look of complete disbelief,
and the Lord Mayor running like hell to save his life. When you have pissed
them off, you never want to be near an Italian who may have connections.
And so the food fight commences. What a mess. Those Irish can
be wicked with potatoes. I wonder what Papa Panini has in that bowl???
To prove that chivalry is not dead. The victorious Brianna embraced
Papa Panini (Don Lemmerman) and announced that they had brought dinner to help
reconcile the age old feud between the Irish and the Italians.
