Screen Saver
New on MRFfriends

I found a wonderful screen saver one day (PC based only at this time) and have set it up so that when I leave my computer alone for a while, my screen gets covered with all my friends' faces. I got to thinking that maybe other people would like the same thing so here we go. The screen saver is called PicSaver. I have taken all the headshots from the alphabetical listings and made a zip file of them.

The Things You Will Need:

PicSaver Installation Instructions:

  1. Download picsaver.zip, taking note of where on your computer you saved the file.
  2. Uncompress picsaver.zip using WinZip or some other similar compression utility. If you are not sure how to do this, refer to WinZip's accompanying documentation.
  3. Verify that the uncompressed zip file contains the two files PicSaver.scr and Readme.txt. Be sure to look over the Readme file thoroughly.
  4. Copy the file PicSaver.scr to your computer's System folder or WINNT folder. This will typically be something similar to C:\Windows\System or C:\WINNT.

If you have a similar program that would work on Macintosh, pleaseMail the Webmaster at: MRFfriends-owner@yahoogroups.com

The Pictures
Once you have installed PicSaver, you will need to download headshot.zip, headshot2.zip, & headshot3.zip.This file contains a collection of all the face shots used on the MRFfriends Resource Page.

  1. Download headshot.zip, taking note of where on your computer you saved the file.
  2. Uncompress headshot.zip using WinZip or some other similar compression utility. You will need to place the pictures in a new folder with nothing else in it.
  3. Download and Uncompress headshot2.zip as you did the first one. Allow it to replace photos so you get the updated version. Likewise for headshot3.zip.
  4. From the Start menu, select Settings, then Control Panel. Double click Display and select Screen Saver.
  5. Select PicSaver as your screen saver.
  6. Click Settings. Under Directories:, make sure it's pointing to the folder you put the headshots in.

The rest of the settings are personal preference.
I have mine set to:

Style:

So I get lots of pictures.

This way I know who the latest picture shown is.
Order (by file name): Random For Fun!

Periodically I will give you additional zipped files with newer face shots in them.
